Found in October 2000, Beijing InfoQuick SinoVoice Speech Technology Corp. (hereinafter referred to as SinoVoice) was invested by Beijing InfoQuick Software Corp. co-op with Professor Lu Shinan, who is a renowned speech researcher at Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Based on Chinese speech technology research and application, SinoVoice is a High-Tech enterprise developing all-around acoustic communication value-added services. SinoVoice is one of the first companies granted by Ministry of Information Industry with the license of nationwide telecommunication services in 2004.

SinoVoice insists on the development strategy of realizing speech technology industrialization and services. In 2001, it released the most advanced Chinese TTS technology in the world, which started a practical application for Chinese Text-to-Speech technology on computer communication, telecommunication value-added services and other fields in China, and SinoVoice accounted for 50% of Chinese speech market share. In 2003, SinoVoice succeeded in bidding one of ten projects of "The Tech Olympics": The R&D of multilingual speech synthesis products catered for the Olympics, and began to implement the multilingual voice service platform “OlyVoice”, a key program supported by Chinese Ministry of Information Industry and Ministry of Science and Technology. In 2005, SinoVoice developed Vocal Ordering telecommunication value-added service platform where the latest TTS and ASR technology was applied, showing its powerful strength on speech telecommunication value-added services.

As the fast development of wireless value-added services and CDMA network in China, SinoVoice has been taking China Unicom and American Qualcomm as the most important strategic partners on mobile value-added services. Since China Unicom’s U-magic service on BREW platform was carried out, taking advantage of speech technology of itself and holding the guideline of “produce valuable products”, SinoVoice developed many popular applications such as DiscMelody, Ring Tone DIY, JT Recoder, Sonic Colorring, and a series of successful games like Defend the Earth, Legend of Sword, Rhapsody of Shuihu Heroes, Tale of Three Kingdoms and so on. In 2004, for its best result among all SPs, SinoVoice was granted “2004 BREW Contribution Award” by China Unicom and Qualcomm, and “the G reat Pioneer of CDMA” by sina.com. In May of 2005, on behalf of China, the popular and classic shooting game “Defend the Earth” was selected as a finalist of 2005 Global BREW Developer Award by Qualcomm. By virtue of its accumulated many years’ experience on core technology R&D and marketing strength, SinoVoice achieved its outstanding position in China’s wireless value-added business field at present.

Beijing InfoQuick SinoVoice Corp. Guangzhou branch was established in Sep. 2004, who would be in charge of business in South China, aiming at practical market demands in South China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, and providing clients with professional speech tech products and services from SinoVoice.

Promoting China’s speech technology industrialization, building large-scale service IT enterprise based on core technologies, SinoVoice was awarded “Excellent Zhongguancun Company Built by Overseas Students” by Zhongguancun Administrative Committee in 2004 and Top 10 Medium and Small Companies with Greatest Potential in Zhongguancun in 2005.

Engrossment and concentration, innovation and steadiness, opportunity and challenge motivated SinoVoice’s development. It is SinoVoice’s insistent enterprise development goal to be an excellent acoustic-featured telecommunication value-added service provider in China.
